Chapters 2-4 of The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy 

Theme: In chapter three When the bartender calls for “last orders,” he essentially comes to terms with the fact that there’s nothing he can do to stop the world from ending. In light of this powerlessness, he does the only thing under his control: he bartends. This is shown as power and control 

Setting: At the start of Chapter 2 it takes place arriving at the Pub when Ford orders Six pints of beer. They are there since "it's the end of the world" 

Literary terms/Devices: Pan galactic gargle blaster is like having your brains smashed out by a slice of lemon wrapped around a large gold brick - Simile 

Characters: In chapter 3 as the main characters Arthur & Ford drink at the Pub they are just chillin since the world is about to end. as they are the pub a loud crash occurs but Ford knows that that's Arthur house getting demolished 

Plot: Ford takes Arthur to the pub in chapter three for him to not worry about his house being wrecked. They just drink away while the earth is ending. Ford does this so Arthur won't  freak out. 

Guided Questions: 

QUESTION #1: The conclusion that can be drawn from Arthurs Dents reaction was that he was blindsided by his own self. He didn't know of the importance of others or other things, he was just so closed into himself. 

QUESTION #2: The question that was risen up by the barman's end-of-the-world intuition was that he didn't believe in the statements ford was saying about the world coming to an end. He would question the usefulness of it.

QUESTION #3: The destruction of Arthur's house parallels to the destruction of the earth because they both are making a way that will allow them to leave earth and explore the galaxy. They are both trying to resemble that. 

 PREDICTION : Well obviously things in the path arthur is taking will change because it's an adventure that hes going through. I feel like something that's unexpected will reveal itself to him making him change his situation around.
